Completely Yours by Erin Nicholas

Author:  Erin Nicholas Release date: December 20, 2016 Genre:  Romance Rating: 2 Stars The story started off slow and the comic con scene is really dragged along. I was bored out my mind up until about the 29% mark.  The book tells the story of main characters Kiera, a comic geek and graphic designer, and Zack, an EMT.  Do you see what we are working with here?  The opening scene of this book takes place at Comic Con.  Now do not get me wrong, I love comic books, superheroes, and girls that can kick ass, but Kiera was a boring heroin and she had as much personality as a bucket of peanuts. Zack is the same way, boring and no personality. The dialogue is lame and I did not feel one spark between these two.  These two characters felt like good friends rather than a "fake" couple.  When I read a romance novel, I look for chemistry and sparks and I did not get neither in this book.  I could not relate to these characters and the hero in this book did nothing for me.

The Day He Went Away by Jennifer Millikin

Author: Jennifer Millikin Date Released: November 10, 2016 Genre: Romance Rating:  4 Stars⭐⭐⭐⭐ I really enjoyed this story. It was real, emotional and raw. The main characters were well developed and the author's descriptive writing was on point.  I felt like I was with Katie while she was grieving and while she was struggling to get her life together. I absolutely love second chance romances and this book was a great example of how great they can be.  The Day He Went Away is about a young lady named Katie who, ten years later, discovers that she is in love with her best friend, Ethan.  While their relationship starts to bloom, Ethan's life is, unfortunately, cut short while he is deployed overseas.  Finding it incredibly hard to cope with her best friend's death, Katie goes into a deep depression and loses herself in alcohol.  Ethan's soldier in arms friend, Nick, has been assigned the duty of taking care of Katie in the event of Ethan's death. I liked Kate,

Married at Midnight by Gerri Russell

Author:   Gerri Russell Release date:   12/13/2016 Genre: Romance Star Rating:   3 Star s ⭐⭐⭐ This story was okay and there were a couple of entertaining moments in this story.  One of the major problems in this story was the inability to connect with the characters.  There was no character development and the only thing that I knew about the characters were that they had mommy and daddy issues. The story starts off with the main characters waking up in bed together.  The only twist that is…BAM….they used to date.  After discovering that they are indeed married, Conner, a hot name by the way, gets a call from his dad about his grandmother having a heart attack.   There is a lot of things in this book that does not make sense.  First, Conner has held on for a hate towards Ellie for 11 years and the reasoning was glossed over.  They both say that they broke each other's heart, but it is nothing major or interesting.  I was thinking at the beginning of the book that

The Secret He Keeps by Julieann Dove

Author:  Julieann Dove Release Date:  December 08, 2016 Genre:  Romance Star Rating:  4 ☆☆☆☆ This was a different read for me because this story was in the mystery genre as well.  I went into this story brand new and not expecting the emotional roller coaster that I was taken on.  The Secret He Keeps  tells the story of Rachel.  Rachel was in a terrible car accident along with her husband, but, unfortunately, her husband died in the accident.  As a result of the accident, Rachel has lost her long term memory for the one year before the accident and leading up to the accident.  Rachel is fighting to normalize her life and to move on from the death of her husband.  What makes this story so interesting is the emotional journey that Rachel goes through and Rachel's desire to remember her husband as this saint, instead of the man that everyone has painted of him.   The book starts off with Rachel in her living room and from there the story takes me hostage and I am a will

Heap of Texas Trouble by Carolyn Brown

Author: Carolyn Brown Release Date: December 06, 2016 Genre: Romance Rating:  2 Stars** It took so long to get to the good part of the story and I almost lost interest. I am loving the family, but I have yet to get to the romance part.  The only hint of a romance is between Alma Grace and Jack, whom are not the main characters.  The blurb on this book is incorrect because romance between Jack and Carlene does not take place till the end of the book.  I was kinda confused by this book because the main plot point is the chili cook off, which does not take place until, you guessed it, the end of the book.  I was expecting to see a romance blossoming, but instead I got a, what felt like, a television show. There is no particular point of view because it follows all of the characters in the family. I am not sure what time period takes place, but the idea of women in this books sounds like the fifties or something.   The one thing that I do love about this book is the fa

One Sexy Mistake by Sarah Ballance

Author:  Sarah Ballance Date Released: November 28, 2016 Genre: Romance Rating:  3 Stars *** If it wasn't for the weird beginning to this story, I would have gave this book 4 Stars.  This story started out really weird for me to say the least,  but it grabbed my attention. I am glad that I gave this book a chance because this story is really sweet.  This book is about two computer hackers who find love on a dating app. Olivia is a computer hacker who was fired from her job because of her program being prematurely released by someone.  To make matters worse,  she is dumped by her boyfriend the next day. Wanting to have a no strings sexy one night stand, she meets Grady on line, whom is also a computer hacker. The beginning is so awkward and stupid, that I almost quit. She meets this guy on line and goes to his house, not knowing whether he is a serial killer or not. Then they proceed to have sex, but it is so awkward and it made me cringe. Thankfully the autho

What You Do To Me by Barbara Longley

Author:   Barbara Longley Date released: November 1, 2016 Genre: Romance Rating: 3 Stars *** This book is okay overall and I like the hero and heroine of this story.  This was a new plot that I have never seen before and I enjoyed that very much. This story is about a woman is left two weeks before her wedding to her high school sweet heart.  Trying to pull her out the hole, her mom sets her up with the famous Handy Man, Sam, whom is unaware that he is being set up.  While listening to a radio show, Sam hears one of his client talking about the sexual things that happened between the two.  Sam stupidly reveals his real name and the adventure start from there.   The chemistry between the two are there and of course, we have the typical guy who does not do relationships and the cliché aspect of the story where the female character is afraid to trust the guy, but proceeds to kiss him most of the time.  That kinda threw me off because according to the book, she was deeply scar

Happy Thanksgiving 🦃

This a time of giving thanks and spending time with family.  I just want to extend my thanks to my readers of this blog because you all spend your valuable time reading about my passion. Now that I am done stuffing my face and cooking all night long, I am going to jump into a book. Happy reading.!!

The Matchmaker's Replacement by Rachel Van Dyken

Author:   Rachel Van Dyken Released: August 9, 2016 Genre: Contemporary Romance   Rating: 2 Stars** When the hero of the book is a first class jerk, the author has to tread lightly because he can become very boring and not relatable.  This is exactly what happened here. Lex is not very likeable and I feel like his character is not really relatable. His personality comes off as an asshole, not a hot alpha.  I rushed to experience the kindle-in-motion content in this novel and at first I loved it, but as the story went on the guy that is playing Lex does not fit the description very well.  This guy is a nerd and not a hot one.  But I will say that he is cute, but he just did not give off the hot, sex nerd that the author was going for. I love nerds by the way, but his body is flat and it did nothing for me. In the book, Lex is described to be a nerd, but he is also described to have a muscular build and his hotness is supposed to be off of the radar.  I feel like I am reading abo

Why You should BLOG?

Why should you Blog?? Well, the answer to that question would be........to express yourself.  I am a bookworm, no doubt about it.  I feel like I would make a mark on the world by expressing myself through this blog.  My blog is about reviewing books in the romance genre and just reaching out to my fellow book worms. I feel like I don't put enough of personality in this blog and I plan to rectify the situation.  The internet is a vast world of opinions, creativity, ideas, and of course, my favorite, memes.  One interesting fact about me is that I have never been to a club before... Does that make me lame or what???  Some may say yes, but I would be at home reading a book rather than going to a sweaty place. :)

Craving by Helen Hardt

Author:  Helen Hardt Released: May 31, 2016 Genre:  Romance Rating: 4 Stars I read this series fairly quickly because it was a page turner.  The spark between Jade and Talon is so electric and the author wrote this story beautifully.  The author's writing was so realistic and I great example of good storytelling.  There is a big mystery in this book and the author wrote it so well.  This is truly entertaining and this book is HOT, in all caps.  It has been awhile since a book has made me want to throw my husband on the bed and I must say that this book made me think naughty thoughts. ;)  The hero in this book, Talon, was a major alpha and I did not expect to love him….  When the story starts I immediately take a liking to Jade because she is smart, funny, and I could totally relate to her.  Talon is an ex-military veteran who experienced a painful experience as a Child.  The book was really intense and I loved it, but that leads me to the negative element of t

Love & Lagers by Liz Crow

Author: Liz Crow Release Date: 11/1/2016 Genre: Military Romance Rating: 3 Stars This was an okay read overall.  There wasn't a wow factor, but the plot pulled me in.  This story follows Lainey and Owen who is  an ex-military veteran with a prosthetic leg.  The relationship between these two characters seems forced and the I just did not feel the chemistry between these two characters.  The "I love you" seemed forced as well and the writing did not emit those feelings very well. I liked Owen as the Hero because he had heart and he was man with a painful past. Because of the negligence of Owen's parents, he is unofficially adopted by his best friend's parents and the love within this family is great.  I am very interested in the other relationships involving his best friend's widow and his other best friend, Antony, relationship.   Lainey was also a character with a painful past and the situation with her was very surprising.  The climax in this story

Just A Post

I saw this question on Goodreads and I wanted to share my experience.  I developed a love for reading when I was around the age of 10.  I started reading these books titled,  The Babysitters Club , and I was so amazed by the adventures that I had taken me that I became addicted.  I grew up in a family of 6 with 2 brothers and two sisters and you can imagine how much "me" that I could manage to have.  Soon enough, reading a good book became my escape and my next genre of books were suspense.  As I got into high school, I discovered the romance genre and the rest is history.  Harlequin books were my favorite books and let me tell you that I bought them in packs with the little extra money that I received from my summer job. While some people like to party and drink, I would rather drink and read a book.

Puck Buddies by Tara Brown

Author: Tara Brown Release Date: 07/20/2016 Genre: Romance Rating:  5 Stars I actually really loved this book and its characters. I know that a lot of people were actually upset because this is actually a prequel to book one of the series. I would actually be upset too if it wasn't for the fact that this book took so long to be released, so i kinda forgot the specifics of Matt and Sami's relationship. I was really looking forward to a continuation of their relationship from book one, but unfortunately I received a back story. Matt is a hockey player who also comes from money and Sami is a heiress who loves to party. Sami, to me, is a rich, lonely girl with low self-esteem issues and she meets Matt on a eventful night. Under the impression that he does not know who she is, she grows fond of Matt and they share an eventful kiss in the back of the cab. Fast forward a little later, they run into each other at a club and neither one seems to want to acknowledge

I am a Die-Hard Book Worm

This is how I felt when the Timeless Series by E. L Todd ended.  Lol.!!  When a series is so good that I do not want to even go to work and fall into a deep depression.

Combust (Book Four Electric Series) E. L Todd

Author: E.L Todd Release Date: October 11, 2016 Genre: Contemporary Romance Rating: 4 Stars I honestly think that the fact that these books were broken up into four parts and released on the same day is ridiculous.  Book One and Book two could have easily been combined and it would have been a wonderful story and the same goes for book three and four.  Book four picks up after the big "break up" of Volt and Taylor and we get a little closer to the showdown between Volt and Sarah. Volt and Taylor kissed and made up, so I really did not see a reason to read the last book of the series.  Simply because my mom did not raiser a quitter, I decided to go  ahead and read the book.  There is no mistaking that Volt and Taylor is a good couple and this book has too many sex scenes for me and it took too long to get to the answer that I already knew the answer too.  Now I love sex scenes, but not when it weighs down the story and I thought this was novel, not an erotica. I re

Burn (Book Three) By E.L Todd

Book Information Author: E.L Todd Release date: October 11, 2016 Genre: Romance Rating: 4 Stars Now we get some action and a little conclusion to the whirlwind of emotions that I have endured.  Book three is better than book two, but not quite up the ranks as book one.  This book picks up where book two ends with Taylor and Volt at her parents for Thanksgiving.  In this book, Taylor finally learns of Volt's true feelings and the book takes off from there.  I have to admit that they make a cute couple and all of their sweetness gives me cavities. Muahhh.!!!  Anyways, Volt finally admits his feelings and Taylor acknowledges hers as well.  Now you would think that after such a long time that Volt and Taylor would get it on, right?  If you thought so, the you would be incorrect. It took them about half of the book to get it on and when they do get it on, it takes about five pages to do it.  The one thing that I love about E.L Todd is her love scenes in her books, b

Spark (Book Two) by E.L Todd

Book Information Author: E.L Todd Release date: October 11, 2016 Genre : Contempary Romance Rating: 3 Stars I am sad right now.  I am sad because my thirst has not been quenched.  This book accomplished nothing and I am still waiting for the conclusion.  I actually thought that this book would mention Jared and Natalie again because I really want to know about their relationship.  This is book 2 in the Electric series and I just wish that the author would have combined book one and book two.  In the first book, which I loved, Volt and Taylor are friends and Volt realizes that he has strong feelings for Taylor and he believes that if he tells her how he feels that it will ruin their friendship.  It was adorable in book one because it gave his character depth and who wouldn't want a hot guy drooling over them, but in this book it goes on and on.   It just baffles me that they have only been friends for a short amount of time and she is already saying that she can

Charge by E.L Todd

Book Information Author: E.L Todd Release Date: October 11, 2016 Genre : Contemporary Romance Rating: 5 Stars I have been a fan of this author since her novel, "Into the fire", was released.  E. L Todd is  a real romance story teller and this story further supports her skills.  Her writing makes me feel the character's words and allow me to see the world through their eyes.  Though the story is written in first point of view, it isn't wordy or someone's irrelevant inner thoughts. This story is about Volt, a CEO of his Tutoring program for the SATs and Taylor, a teacher at a prestigious, private school.  On her first day at her new job, she meets fellow teacher Natalie. Natalie invites her to a bar with her friends and that is where she meets Volt.  At first sight, Taylor is attracted to Volt, but he is emotionally unavailable. Volt is sexy in his own right and he knows it.  After discovering the Volt is not looking for a relationship, but a quick
