Completely Yours by Erin Nicholas

Author:  Erin Nicholas Release date: December 20, 2016 Genre:  Romance Rating: 2 Stars The story started off slow and the comic con scene is really dragged along. I was bored out my mind up until about the 29% mark.  The book tells the story of main characters Kiera, a comic geek and graphic designer, and Zack, an EMT.  Do you see what we are working with here?  The opening scene of this book takes place at Comic Con.  Now do not get me wrong, I love comic books, superheroes, and girls that can kick ass, but Kiera was a boring heroin and she had as much personality as a bucket of peanuts. Zack is the same way, boring and no personality. The dialogue is lame and I did not feel one spark between these two.  These two characters felt like good friends rather than a "fake" couple.  When I read a romance novel, I look for chemistry and sparks and I did not get neither in this book.  I could not relate to these characters and the hero in this book did nothing for me.

The Day He Went Away by Jennifer Millikin

Author: Jennifer Millikin Date Released: November 10, 2016 Genre: Romance Rating:  4 Stars⭐⭐⭐⭐ I really enjoyed this story. It was real, emotional and raw. The main characters were well developed and the author's descriptive writing was on point.  I felt like I was with Katie while she was grieving and while she was struggling to get her life together. I absolutely love second chance romances and this book was a great example of how great they can be.  The Day He Went Away is about a young lady named Katie who, ten years later, discovers that she is in love with her best friend, Ethan.  While their relationship starts to bloom, Ethan's life is, unfortunately, cut short while he is deployed overseas.  Finding it incredibly hard to cope with her best friend's death, Katie goes into a deep depression and loses herself in alcohol.  Ethan's soldier in arms friend, Nick, has been assigned the duty of taking care of Katie in the event of Ethan's death. I liked Kate,

Married at Midnight by Gerri Russell

Author:   Gerri Russell Release date:   12/13/2016 Genre: Romance Star Rating:   3 Star s ⭐⭐⭐ This story was okay and there were a couple of entertaining moments in this story.  One of the major problems in this story was the inability to connect with the characters.  There was no character development and the only thing that I knew about the characters were that they had mommy and daddy issues. The story starts off with the main characters waking up in bed together.  The only twist that is…BAM….they used to date.  After discovering that they are indeed married, Conner, a hot name by the way, gets a call from his dad about his grandmother having a heart attack.   There is a lot of things in this book that does not make sense.  First, Conner has held on for a hate towards Ellie for 11 years and the reasoning was glossed over.  They both say that they broke each other's heart, but it is nothing major or interesting.  I was thinking at the beginning of the book that

The Secret He Keeps by Julieann Dove

Author:  Julieann Dove Release Date:  December 08, 2016 Genre:  Romance Star Rating:  4 ☆☆☆☆ This was a different read for me because this story was in the mystery genre as well.  I went into this story brand new and not expecting the emotional roller coaster that I was taken on.  The Secret He Keeps  tells the story of Rachel.  Rachel was in a terrible car accident along with her husband, but, unfortunately, her husband died in the accident.  As a result of the accident, Rachel has lost her long term memory for the one year before the accident and leading up to the accident.  Rachel is fighting to normalize her life and to move on from the death of her husband.  What makes this story so interesting is the emotional journey that Rachel goes through and Rachel's desire to remember her husband as this saint, instead of the man that everyone has painted of him.   The book starts off with Rachel in her living room and from there the story takes me hostage and I am a will

Heap of Texas Trouble by Carolyn Brown

Author: Carolyn Brown Release Date: December 06, 2016 Genre: Romance Rating:  2 Stars** It took so long to get to the good part of the story and I almost lost interest. I am loving the family, but I have yet to get to the romance part.  The only hint of a romance is between Alma Grace and Jack, whom are not the main characters.  The blurb on this book is incorrect because romance between Jack and Carlene does not take place till the end of the book.  I was kinda confused by this book because the main plot point is the chili cook off, which does not take place until, you guessed it, the end of the book.  I was expecting to see a romance blossoming, but instead I got a, what felt like, a television show. There is no particular point of view because it follows all of the characters in the family. I am not sure what time period takes place, but the idea of women in this books sounds like the fifties or something.   The one thing that I do love about this book is the fa
