I am loving the family, but I have yet to get to the romance part. The only hint of a romance is between Alma Grace and Jack, whom are not the main characters. The blurb on this book is incorrect because romance between Jack and Carlene does not take place till the end of the book. I was kinda confused by this book because the main plot point is the chili cook off, which does not take place until, you guessed it, the end of the book. I was expecting to see a romance blossoming, but instead I got a, what felt like, a television show. There is no particular point of view because it follows all of the characters in the family.
