Let me start by saying that I had no idea that this was book 3 in a series. The book was so good that I thought it was a stand-alone novel.!! This book tells the story of Jake and Laurel (which makes me think of "Arrow") and tells the story of how they became to accept each other's painful past and learning how to move forward with love. This book is a wonderful example of storytelling and I enjoyed myself while reading this book. The way the author tells this story makes it entertaining in a classy, simple way and I could not have asked for a better story. This story gripped my heart and I was surprised by the chemistry that jumped off of the pages when it came to Jake and Laurel. Laurel's daughter, Bonnie, just makes this book even more sweet than it already is. I really miss when books were written like this and there is no specific point of view and it allows the author to explore different characters. By allowing different character point of views, it allows each character in this small town to contribute to the story and to display the love and compassion of this small community without taking the attention from the main characters. I loved this book and I may go back and read the first two of this series. There were a couple of events in this book that I had me biting my nails and I did not expect that little dosage of suspense. This book is a must read if you love a nice, simple, love story about compassion, heroism, and most importantly, love.

Glad you liked it. I couldn't connect with the characters.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment. Jake really carried the story for me and I sometimes like to take a break from the hotness of romance novels and dive in a sweet contemporary romance.
