Bet on it by Elizabeth Perry

Author:  Elizabeth Perry
Release date:  September 19, 2017
Rating:  4 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐

May I start off by saying that this cover is H-O-T.  Okay, drooling session over. Let's get into this review.

This book took a while to build momentum, but I am glad that I stuck around because this book was good.  This book is a about a pro baseball player who, dumbly, places a bet that he can get the new team's "MOM" to sleep with him, so that she can get fired.  This book is told from both Laci's and Jake's pov and I loved Jake all the way. While trying to win the bet against his teammates, Jake gets to know the "mommy" and starts to realize that she is an amazing woman and starts  to develop feelings for her.

I will not spoil the details, but Jake was a wonderful hero and even though he suffered heartbreak, that did not stop him from having faith in love and placing his heart on the line.  Eventhough Jake was pressured to take on the bet, he was such a sweetheart with a heart of gold.  The chemistry was there, the sheets or locker room (wink, wink) was burning up and the author's writing was on point and I enjoyed myself while reading this book

Now, this book did have some things that I did not like and I must say that it was minor.  The book started off slow and the main female character was a pushover to me, but she did bring some humor to the book.  She made stupid decisions when it came to her job and her childhood should have steered her clear of this profession, but no, she dived right in, head first.  I feel as if Jake had better character development while Laci got the short end of the stick.

I have read one other book by this author and it was also great.  I recommend this author and this book because you will absolutely fall for Jake.  Bet on it!!!

Sorry,!!! I had to use that pun. 😚⚾

Riding Hard by Laura Landish

Summer of Seduction

Saving Jake by Sharon Sala

Let me start by saying that I had no idea that this was book 3 in a series.  The book was so good that I thought it was a stand-alone novel.!!  This book tells the story of Jake and Laurel (which makes me think of "Arrow") and tells the story of how they became to accept each other's painful past and learning how to move forward with love.  This book is a wonderful example of storytelling and I enjoyed myself while reading this book.  The way the author tells this story makes it entertaining in a classy, simple way and I could not have asked for a better story.  This story gripped my heart and I was surprised by the chemistry that jumped off of the pages when it came to Jake and Laurel.  Laurel's daughter, Bonnie, just makes this book even more sweet than it already is.  I really miss when books were written like this and there is no specific point of view and it allows the author to explore different characters.  By allowing different charact...
